Motor — Turns electrical energy into motion. In our simple DC motor, swapping the connections reverses the spin.
Mechanical energy — Energy of motion or position. A spinning motor has motion energy; a raised weight has stored position energy.
Direction — Our simple DC motor can turn either way: swap its two connections to reverse it. Other motor types work differently.
Fan — A motor with blades. Pushes air to cool things.
Indicator — A part (usually an LED) that shows the state of the circuit — on, off, error.
Which component does this job? “Spins when powered. Reverse polarity to spin the other way.”
Which word matches this explanation? “Our simple DC motor can turn either way: swap its two connections to reverse it. Other motor types work differently.”
Which component does this job? “A tiny light. Connect the long leg (+) to the battery's + side.”
