Logic gate — A tiny brain — takes 1 or 2 inputs and decides whether its output should be ON or OFF.

AND gate — Outputs ON only when BOTH inputs are ON. Like 'A AND B'.

Input signal — The ON-or-OFF value coming into a gate. Switches, buttons, and sensors create input signals.

OR gate — Outputs ON when EITHER input is ON. Like 'A OR B'.

NOT gate — Flips its input — ON becomes OFF, OFF becomes ON.

Invert — Flip something upside-down. NOT gates invert their input.

Automation — When a circuit reacts to the world all by itself — no human needed. Sensors + gates = automation.
